Our b&b is a building from the 1300s. It is the seat of the Lega del Chianti that brought together all the neighboring villages of Chianti in order to protect themselves from the continuous attacks and expansionist ambitions of Florence and Siena. Many military rules and decisions were established in the consulting room, today our reception hall. Then it became a Palazzo Pretorio, a sort of fascist control district present in the small Italian villages. We also have the Pretore’s office room, which we call La Pretoria. The building has been restructured in 2012 according to the Italian law for the protection of historical assets.
IMPORTANT: The rooms are the same as in 1300, they do not have the technical and acoustic characteristics of a hotel. There is no kitchen or breakfast floor, but a single space where the breakfast is prepared early in the morning to allow you to start at 07.30. We need time to prepare and to set,but it can cause some hustle and bustle. We apologize for any inconvenience. The rooms have been renovated without changing their slope and historicity. The rooms are positioned like a house not with the concept of a “Hotel.
When Staying at Le Terrazze del Chianti you will get to live with our family, in the same building where we live . Breakfast is included in your stay. You will share with our family the living room, the dining room and the outside terraces. The building reflects our personality. Your stay with us will be unique. You will feel at home, in our home with our family.
Our b&b is in the medieval center of the village in a pedestrian area. It is permitted, except for certain periods, to arrive at the entrance of the B&B to unload and load your luggage, in the summer until 5pm. We will send your casr model and number for police department to don’t riceive any charge . There is no private parking, but you can park 5-8 minutes away to walk back.
Following center signal you will meet in your rigth the big building with some flag out side and so it is the village school, now you are in Via Senese .
I° option : you can park Via Senese left side with free white line and you walk for 3/4 minute just in left corner you will meet a bar and big open gate door, where you will walk to arrive in the square where in Via Del Giglio n°26 there is our b&b .
II° option : to drive in the same road, Via Senese for 300 mt to turn left in Via del Borgo Vecchio and 20 mt right to entry in 3 free parking terracce zone . You will back in the same road to walk 5/ 8 minutes just near the bar in corner and in a big open gate door. You will walk to arrive in the medieval village square and in Via del Giglio n°26 there is our b&b.
We are in a medieval village without traffic and city caos, shops or shopping centers. Remember you are in an other country with other habits, life style and traditions. You may hear children play during the day, or early in the morning. You may be hearing hunters’ dogs barking, or birds in the countryside. In the evening some nearby restaurant guests may talk loud while they drink their last glass of wine…The silence is impossible in a b&b, you did not choose us to be isolated from the world! You stay in Italy where they use to drink and to sing on restaurant table, so there is not some silece and quiet.Please leave your stress home and enjoy your holiday.
Because of the restrictions of the laws, established to protect the conservation of the historical buildings, we are not allowed to install air conditioners. The same restrictions apply to the electrical system, made with braided wires and porcellaine switches. Our rooms are warmed by cast iron wood burning heaters.
There is not any fridge in the room. We can’t store anything in our fridge (same goes for medicines). All kitchen appliances use is only PRIVATE.

Check-in is at 16,00 to 22,00 and check-out is by 11,00 . We will try to accomomdate requests for different times. Early check-out before 08,00 AM is for person 8,00 €.
Breakfast is served between 08,00 and 10,30.
For every different breakfast time before 08,00 there is extra-charge of 8,00 € for person. For antiallergie breakfast food you can ask and if it is possible to find and to buy it the extra sevice price is 12,00 € for pax for day. For different breakfast product you can ask and you will pay 8,00 € for each product.
Leave the keys of your room at the reception. An intercom is located by the entrance door of the building, accessible 24/7.
We have some conditions for each rate and the Payment is made through the use of a credit card, bank transfer or cash when you will be at the Check-in . If the customer will pays with the standard rate, they can cancel up to 14 days before the date of booking without any penalty, while if they will cancel after the 14 th day there is a penalty of 100% of the total amount of the reservation will be charged to the verified and valid credit card as guarantee .We will debit 1 € on your credit card to check it and we will return it to your check out. If the customer will pays in advance he has a discount and can use various discounts but the room rate is not refundable. For events, weddings, parties, work-shops, fairs and personalized requests, the prices will can increase and the reservations are with non-refundable advance payment.
In some supirior rooms you can add extra beds for € 30 including breakfast: In the La Piazza room you can add 1 single bed and in the La Soffitta and La Pretoria rooms you can add 2 single beds for each room.
Up to 3 years children sleep with their parents for free otherwise in the box for € 5 per day and breakfast is included.NO PETS . When you will book our conditions all are accepted.
